interesting fact for Windows 10:

When the Arduino Drivers are not installed. Arduboy will get the default Windows driver assigned and will be called USB Serial Device for both the bootloader port and program/sketch mode port (different COM ports though) so it will be harder to trouble shoot.

They still can be differentiated by checking their Product ID ( 0036 bootloader port, 8036 program/sketch port) but you need to dig around a bit to find them)

For trouble shooting ask to update/change driver to Arduino driver so the difference between bootloader mode and normal mode is easier to spot

And this is kind of the opposite of troubleshooting, but it appears that using the default windows 10 drivers you can use the 3rd party game loaders, you don’t actually need to install Arduino.
