Now I will work on a support for arduboy:url protocol listener, so after adding a new button on the list, uploading things to the Arduboy will be equivalent to clicking a magnet:link for torrents

I have been experimenting with Git submodules:

Because it seems that people who make Arduboy games only use github as a “cloud backup” so having to keep all the games updated do not seem like an easy job (adding them is easy).

I am trying to solve the dilemma on how to resolve updates in the repo, I guess it needs more work, because with submodules I just have the external repo inside my own, but generating the binaries from is another history. Short story:

Can anyone provide an idea how to keep all the games updated all the time? Thinking that some games are from normal URLs, other are from github as source and other are from github as source and binaries

Perhaps make people provide some sort of ‘file list’ file that details the layout of their game.
Then you get them to provide the URL to that file and from that your repo can fetch all the necessary files.

For example, the file might look like this:

[Binary]
Bin/Game.hex

Then it’s easy to know which files to use for what.
It might even be worth making some UI tool to generate the file.

(As for knowing when to update, that’s a bit more difficult.)

Here is the list updated up to 15/09/2017 with 141 games now:

PS1: Circuit dude and Team ARG games are not included, so the Arduboy catalog is around 150 games now
PS2: There are like 40 more games from Gameduino to port
PS3: All those games, with screenshoots and descriptions are listed in http://arduboy.ried.cl

Also, all our games have a github latest release link, so the link stays the same.

For the moment that is not possible.

I need to find a solution for linking stuff, also I have to find a way to get the “.arduboy” file from a “dynamic” location like /latest in github. I think there is a way to use sub-projects in github, but I haven´t poked at that yet.

I am not sure, you need to ask @crait. But if you install my uploader: https://github.com/eried/ArduboyUploader/releases/latest you can use the Upload to Arduboy button directly:

Are you talking about Arduboy Mate? If that is the case, you should add the repo url. The previous post was for a Windows PC, not a phone.
