When you select the port using
Tools > Port
does it show that an Arduino Leonardo is detected?
If not then you may have selected the wrong port, or have a driver or cabling problem.

Is your Arduboy turned on when you start the upload?

I’ll try out the cable problem, I’ve made sure all the other things were in tact.

If the COM port you’ve chosen says (Arduino Leonardo) then the Arduboy is being detected, meaning you don’t have a cable problem.

I put it in the right port, yet I’ve been met with this error

I use Linux, not Windows, so I don’t think I can help you any further.

Have you tried flashlight mode?

  1. Turn off Arduboy
  2. Press and hold UP
  3. Turn it on
  4. Flash the sketch
