In Harambe’s Revenge, you play as a phantasmal Harambe that has returned from the afterlife to convert oblivious tourists into mutant zombie gorilla minions which will then protect him. The zoo had to close down in quarantine, trapping many tourists inside.
Harambe’s path is a peaceful one so he has no actual attack. His specialty is the HARAMBE DASH - the ability to run faster that a speeding bullet. Press a button and Harambe’s speed will temporarily increase. The RGB LED will shine YELLOW while Harambe is using his power. RED means his stamina is regenerating, and GREEN means he is ready to use another HARAMBE DASH.
Harambe must contend with armed zookeepers, phantasmal snakes, and even anti-gorilla tank units.
The player gets an extra afterlife every 100 points.
Harambe’s Revenge features persistent HIGH SCORE saving in the EEPROM, music and sound effects, in-game help files, and 255 stages.
PS. You can see my high score in the video, can you beat it?
I’m liking this purely because I know there’s going to be a ton of people screaming ‘dead meme’ somewhere.
Soon these people will learn that fame is fleeting but memes are forever!
In all seriousness though, very amusing and nice use of the LED.
255 stages
Couldn’t spring for an extra byte?
Edit:
It’s very unusual to see someone making use of inheritance in an arduboy game.

Harambe will live on forever in our hearts, and minds. RIP Harambe May 27, 1999 - May 28, 2016 (just a few days away from the Harambe Anniversary)
I guess kill screens are often on Stage 256 or the 117th screen in the case of Donkey Kong, but no reason we can’t be different! With the portability of the Arduboy, now there’s a potential Harambe’s Revenge kill screen coming up anywhere, anytime!
Technically it wouldn’t be a kill screen, he’s already dead.
It would be a re-kill screen, or a ‘ghostbusted’ screen.
Or maybe a ‘laid-to-rest’ screen.
(Side note - the kill screen should be level 165 because 16/5 -> 2016/05.)
(Even more to the side note - only the ino file and licence mention there being two people involved in the game. You should both @-tag yourselves on this forum post or something in case nobody reads the files.)
Donkey Kong kill screen was just an inspiration. The kill screen in Harambe’s revenge is simply to prevent the byte from rolling over. I don’t even know if it works.
As for credit. I’m not too worried about it. If we win anything Morgan and I can share it. We are married and wear the same size clothes.
Funny you mentioned that. I initially used toggle, but noticed the setting wasn’t being saved. I switched it to on/off while debugging only to realize I was forcing audio on in setup.
No worries. We actually don’t share clothes as much as we should. I’ve sorta appropriated some of her clothes and she did the same with mine. I think there is only one t-shirt we both wear on a regular basis.
