LOL … not too many Killer Penguins my way. We have an island near by where Japanese tourist flock to watch the Fairy Penguins come in each night. Unfortunately with penguins and seals in the area there are often sharks …
An animal in Australia that can’t kill you? Lies. :P
It’s just not trying hard enough.
The penguin lures you towards the sharks!
I recently wrote a similar Minesweeper game, but I was not perfect in comparison.
Just the fact that you wrote it makes it quite something. it’s not a competition, and i think your version have variable playfield, which this version here doesn’t have. So be proud of your version!
I could provide Czech and probably even Slovak translation. Don’t know if the goal is to have as many langs as possible or just have the big ones. Feel free to contact me if interested
EDIT: I could also try Esperanto, but would have to find a proofreader because I’m still a noob in it But I know plenty Esperantists at Diaspora.
I might take you up on that offer at a later point, but at the moment my programming time is going to be occupied with another project.
So far I’ve got two offerings for translations, so I’ll probably queue them up for the next release.
(So I can release multiple languages in one minor version, not because I’m British :P
)
If you want to get ahead of the game, take a look at the EN-GB language header:
And remember that the Arduboy uses Code Page 437, and that you have to use hex escape characters to embed accented characters into the string, and that the compiler is greedy with matching (i.e. make sure it knows you want a 2-digit hex code and not a 4-digit hex code).
A recent thread reminded me that I was going to publish a bit of design documentation that I’d done.
I’ve just added a new Design
folder to the repo so anyone who’s interested can check it out:
This is really cool. This is the kind of thing I was hoping for. I wanted to show my son what it takes to make a game. Or even take something like this and then code it. This way we don’t need to worry about design we could just focus on the code.
If you do attempt to implement a Minesweeper game based off this design documentation,
I’d recommend using the v1.1.0 design so you don’t have to worry about the themes.
I finally got around to playing this today after I couldn’t find it for a while. I didn’t realize it was one of your games. As the story goes, before I bought my Arduboy I was looking at games I might want. I remember seeing Minesweep with a nice presentation. I tried finding it again once I got my Arduboy, but I couldn’t find this version in the community Games forum. I finally found it last night hiding on the home page. I also just found out you can concurrently load some behind the scenes stuff while the game is playing in emulator by clicking on the micro USB port on the bottom of the system. I ended up pixel hunting the Arduboy like a Point-and-Click Adventure. LOL
