Thanks for adding “tic tac curly” and “rick and Morty” @bateske how about you link to this in a very obvious place for newcomers
Unless it was done for all unofficial repos then it might be misconstrued as favouritism.
I’m ok with that, but if you have to be fair link to all of em that are worth linking
I have been experimenting with Git submodules:
Because it seems that people who make Arduboy games only use github as a “cloud backup” so having to keep all the games updated do not seem like an easy job (adding them is easy).
I am trying to solve the dilemma on how to resolve updates in the repo, I guess it needs more work, because with submodules I just have the external repo inside my own, but generating the binaries from is another history. Short story:
Can anyone provide an idea how to keep all the games updated all the time? Thinking that some games are from normal URLs, other are from github as source and other are from github as source and binaries
Perhaps make people provide some sort of ‘file list’ file that details the layout of their game.
Then you get them to provide the URL to that file and from that your repo can fetch all the necessary files.
For example, the file might look like this:
[Root] http://github.com/Pharap/Game/ [Source] Game.ino Player.h Player.cpp Images.h Images/Image1.h Images/Image2.h Images/Image3.h [Binary] Bin/Game.hex
Then it’s easy to know which files to use for what.
It might even be worth making some UI tool to generate the file.
(As for knowing when to update, that’s a bit more difficult.)

Would it be possible to provide our own repository link to work with your setup ?
Also, all our games have a github latest release link, so the link stays the same.
For the moment that is not possible.
I need to find a solution for linking stuff, also I have to find a way to get the “.arduboy” file from a “dynamic” location like /latest in github. I think there is a way to use sub-projects in github, but I haven´t poked at that yet.
Is there any way to add this repo to the arduboy manager? In kinda not good at this stuff
I am not sure, you need to ask @crait. But if you install my uploader: https://github.com/eried/ArduboyUploader/releases/latest you can use the Upload to Arduboy button directly:
But you need a cord thatll go to your phone and the arduboy correct? I only have regular usb to micro
Are you talking about Arduboy Mate? If that is the case, you should add the repo url. The previous post was for a Windows PC, not a phone.
Ahh ok. The picture in the original post confused me. Installing now. Thanks man
oh… right. Cant change it anymore because the post is too old but true, it is confusing. The thing is that the repo is a “generic source”, not really related with the method you use to upload the games.
Its all good man. This is great. Ive just tried like 5 games out. I really like mayq. Thanks for doing this man
First up, i think it’s great to see what is, as far as I know, the most complete Arduboy repo available - nice work!
Sooo… (not that I’m obsessed with numbers or anything ), but I was curious if you would consider (if you had the data) providing download stats for each of the games? I’m basically just inquisitive about how many players there are our there… might be a neat feature to have a sort of ‘what’s hot’ type chart…
One problem would be that people like me who may download the same game multiple times across multiple devices although some stats would be interesting. I’m sure many dev’s would be interested to see what’s popular or trending it would also be nice to see how much use arduboys are getting and some regional info.
I do not have any tracking, ads, etc implemented in the site.
However, everyone is welcomed to help. For example I think adding a redirection in the links here: https://github.com/eried/ArduboyCollection/blob/master/.admin/public_html/arduboy/update.php
could make for a simple static stat counter.
Ah, fair enough - It’s probably not worth it if you don’t have the data to hand (not that I want to discourage any people with much more technical knowledge than me on such matters from giving it a go!).
