No Man's Space: Arduboy-based spaceship

Hi, guys,

I’d like to announce a game a friend of mine and I made for Ludum Dare 42 which has an Arduboy as a central topic. The LD42’s theme was “Run out of space” so the idea for the game came to our mind right away, as we already were fighting against the lack of memory space in Arduboy (a game that you’ll hear about as soon as we get something interesting).

The game was made in around 48 hours and shows you a console terminal where you can actually write few commands to control your ship and compile them, taking care of not overloading the PROGMEM. Two monitors to inform about spaceship status and the space map are provided. We’d like to introduce more features, but we hadn’t enough time for everything. An idea that rounded our heads was to show some boot animations of some games from the catalog in the arduboy everytime the player compiles the code.

If you want to try the game, you can check it out here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/no-mans-space

We’d be glad if you leave some comment and suggestions here!

Thank you very much!
