Rotate Sprite


I was wondering if someone has written a function with which i could draw a sprite with a rotation.
I need something with full 360 rotation as opposed to just 4 way rotation.

As far as I’m aware, Sprites with a full 360 degrees of translation hasn’t been done.

Even if it had, I’m willing to bit it would look pretty terrible on a 1-bit screen.
Normally when games rotate an image, they actually use colour to trick you into thinking the rotation is more accurate than it actually is.
A 1-bit screen can’t do that, so the sprite would look a bit mangled.

There have been attempts at 90, 180 and 270 degree rotations, but even those take quite a bit of processing and memory.

If you wanted to rotate shapes intead of sprites, that would be more achievable because you’d be rotating the geometry rather than the resulting image.
