Here’s my entry for the Game Jam.

SanSan is a name of little Santa.
A weapon is his bag!

This is Son Son, Rygar inspired action game, but add some original ideas.

I’ll write manual later.

San San Manual

D-pad for move.
A Button for attack enemies by bag.
Get Chrismas gift boxes.

A only - attack horizontally
A + D-pad - attack D-pad direction
A + D-pad after bag shot - swing bag

If you don’t want move when you shot the bag, push A + D-pad simultaneously.
Or push A little bit faster than push D-pad.

Sorry The way of attack is complex.

Thank you for your advice!

(Boris) #7

I’m getting an expected unqualified id before / token error.

(Chamekan) #8

Compiling error?
I tried to download source from web and compile with Arduino IDE.
I confirmed that it’s OK.
Can you try again or report detail?

(Boris) #9

So it compiles with no errors after re downloading the source but I have this problem where the arduboy freezes mid intro screen.

Update: the game works fine after pushing the reset button.

I’m really enjoying the look of this game it reminds me of Bubble Bobble.

(Chamekan) #12

Thank you. Bubble Bobble is my favorite game!

(Aaron Williams) #13

This was my favorite game in this Jam and I’m glad to see it is doing so well in the polls! The controls and attacks are just perfect.

#14

This game was so engaging! I enjoyed the graphics as well as the multiple variables of the game that flowed together cohesively.

#15

I played several games from the two different game jams and SanSan is definitely my favourite. The way of attack is, indeed, complex; the manual is very useful! Thank you. I really enjoyed the platforms, the variety of enemies, and the controls!

#16

I really enjoyed this game. The graphics were very cute and the controls worked really well!

(Razan Eltayeb) #17

I played multiple Arduboy Game Jam games in class and this one was one of my favorites. The mix of smooth gameplay and pretty, clean graphics make this really engaging.

(Daryn) #18

My class played a bunch of games from the jams and this was my favorite out of them <3 it was really fun, and i felt so accomplished when i realized you could actually walk on the very top track ^ __ ^

I’m a developer of SanSan.
Thank you for many comments!

Are these recent comments from same class?
What kind of class? High school or other?

(Daryn) #20

it’s quite possible, though i can’t be sure! there’s a class at my college which is studying system-dependent programming using the arduboy, and we played some of the games on it in our first class to get a feel for what the system is capable of ^ __ ^
