I will definitely participate. I loved the others I was a part of. We should probably plan for it months out so people can set time aside. The first week of November, for instance, would be far enough out.
I really like having goofy concepts or something slightly vague enough to allow a lot of creativity like the āHolidaysā theme we had in the past.
Haha. Thank youā¦

I think @filmote has a good point⦠The last jam had an educational aspect since those kinds of games didnāt quite exist on the system. Maybe we should find a theme that the Arduboy is missing, like board games or something.

We could organise an unofficial one without prizes.
We canāt really organise an official one without Mr Admin.
I think Iād give it a miss again, Iāve got enough projects on my to do list.

Another (though probably un-official) Gam Jam sounds great!

What about countries as themes? Bring on the stereotypes!
Europe: castles, cheese, making wine, gladiators, spaghetti, etc
or Australia: kangaroos, emus, BBQ, boomerangs, camping, etc

@Freezingsnail had this covered ā¦
Blue ringed octopus wouldnāt be in a freshwater lake to my knowledge. I donāt think noodlers fish for anything else besides catfish so itās not a technique you would apply to the ocean. Even without teeth the hill arches are sharp enough to spread your hand if you grab the catfish wrong.
Maybe @filmote should make a 20ways to die in Ozland game next. Could of been a fit for the game jam too.
I am thinking of a game featuring a Drop Bear.
The drop bear (sometimes dropbear), assigned the fictional scientific name Thylarctos plummetus, is a hoax in contemporary Australian folklore featuring a predatory, carnivorous version of the koala (Phascolarctos cinereus). This imaginary animal is commonly spoken about in tall tales designed to scare tourists. While koalas are typically docile herbivores (and are not bears), drop bears are described as unusually large and vicious marsupials that inhabit treetops and attack unsuspecting peopl Th...

@Celinebins & @filmote :
Maybe one day Iāll make a visual novel set in Australia,
just to see how many colloquialisms I can cram in:
āBlimey, did you get that guyās rego?ā
āThe amboās arrived, and theyāve brought the packer whacker.ā
āThat bloody journo is hanging around again.ā
āHeās guilty of murder, arson, and jumping the rattler.ā
āThat blokeās a few roos loose in the top paddock.ā
āThe bloody bogans are causing biffo at the pub.ā
āHey pom, watch out for the drop bears and bunyips!ā
Really though, Iād be tempted to just rip off Allo Allo.
All the stereotypes I could ever want :P

Awesome ⦠just wade right into the water and grab 'em.
I am thinking of a game called āKangaroo Cullā where you have to pull the trigger right when they are in the centre of the sights.
Hmm iād guess i should make a game about a cheesy dude plugging holes in a dike then
Prefer the Western theme though

Kangaroos, because Emus would be too difficult.
The Emu War, also known as the Great Emu War, was a nuisance wildlife management military operation undertaken in Australia over the latter part of 1932 to address public concern over the number of emus said to be running amok in the Campion district of Western Australia. The unsuccessful attempts to curb the population of emus, a large flightless bird indigenous to Australia, employed soldiers armed with Lewis gunsāleading the media to adopt the name "Emu War" when referring to the incident....
Emus 1, Aussies 0
And cassowaries for that matter. The southern cassowary: endangered and dangerous.
(Good look at a cassowary here for anyone interested.)

I was thinking a school-themed jam because the school year is going to start soon (doesnāt have to be educational).
